Magnificent capture, as the bird itself is.
Nice combination as well. Loving your pics. Keep them coming.

Very nice capture although it was only the bird with colour not the water and stone surrounding the bird, maybe select the area around the bird and then desaturate.

Prashanth, these birds have amzing talent to find audiance for themselves, they pose perfectly for photos. I too have some of the photos of brahmini kite, which I will display here in coming days. The effects you have applied makes your picture unique. Great work.

@somitra: Thats a Brahminy Kite

Veena Shivanna from Bengalooru, India

Wonderful shot & the bird. I think the word 'bird' doesn't seem to suit this one..
I would want to call it a creature, magnificient... and !! Matching colors !!

Superb shot, the selective coloring looks cool!

I like the picture, but what I dont like is the color-halo around the bird. Probably have the bird only colored would have been ok.

18 Dec 2006 3:35pm

@Shuva: I tried doing selective coloring in PS, but didn't succeed in that. Hence did this color-halo using picasa.

Jason Kravitz from Brussels, Belgium

very nice - I am a big fan of raptors and have not seen one of these Kites before. Good shot!

There was a family of Mississippi Kites living near Leslie's parents. They returned for many years each season. I happened to be visiting one year and got some really nice close-ups with my 400mm lens :)
I should have one in my archives if you look for "kite"

I need to find more interesting birds in Brussels!

Very beautiful picture, bird quietly waiting to get clicked. Bird and surroundings are perfectly matched.

... I too somewhat agree to Shuva's comments. Any particular reason for doing that?
